For a long time-much longer than I’d like to admit-I played a game I couldn’t win 🎮. It wasn’t a phase or a ‘tough couple of years’ 😓; it was a defining period of my life where, no matter the effort, the result at the end of every month was always the same: Zero ❌.
It didn’t matter where I worked, what my title was, or how many zeros were on my paycheck. 💼 I moved across borders and changed countries, trying to outrun the cycle. 🌍 I lived like a mouse in a hole, cutting every possible corner just to afford a flight home for the holidays. ✈️ I was chasing ‘financial stability’ like a ghost, but no matter how hard I ran, I remained on the wrong side of the river. 🌊
The hardest part wasn’t the lack of money; it was the bone-deep confusion. I hit rock bottom more times than I can count. Only then did I realize the brutal truth: I didn’t have a money problem 💸. I had a structure problem 🏗️. I had no framework to hold onto, no system to protect my energy ⚡. I wasn’t building a future 🌅; I was building a life on a digital mirage 🌐.
The Truth About “Survival Mode”
When you live in survival mode for that long, your brain starts to trick you. You think that if you just work harder, or move to a ‘better’ country, things will fix themselves. But as I eventually learned, you can’t outwork a broken system.
We often use ‘hard work’ as a shield. We say we’re too busy earning money to manage it properly. But it’s actually fear—the fear that if we stop to look at the numbers, we’ll have to face the fact that we aren’t in control.
As Robert Kiyosaki famously said:
‘It’s not how much money you make, but how much money you keep.’
I wasn’t keeping anything because I was trusting a financial infrastructure designed to leak. I was a passenger in a car with no steering wheel.

The moment I stopped searching for ‘get rich quick’ methods and started building a sovereign structure, the fear vanished. Clarity doesn’t magically double your bank account overnight, but it does something more important: it kills anxiety.
